Design - Study Trips |

The PEMBA study trips are built
into the curriculum as part of two different courses. The
Comparative Healthcare systems class has traveled to Paris,
Rome and London in the past and we anticipate adding Amsterdam
into the rotation in the coming year. That trip typically
leaves on a Thursday evening and returns the following Friday.
The
trip is a combination of lectures, hospital visits and cultural
tours the students have an opportunity to interact with practicing
physicians, healthcare executives, and government leaders to
learn how another culture delivers healthcare to its citizens
in a system very different from our own. The airfare
(from Atlanta), lodging and some meals are covered as part
of your tuition.

The Emerging Policy
Issues in Healthcare course takes place in Washington DC. Class
typically begins on a Monday morning and concludes by Wednesday
evening. Through a combination of lectures and interactive
discussions, students have the opportunity to go to the heart
of policy making and hear from those actively involved in charting
the future of U.S. healthcare. This exchange of information
relative to current and emerging medico-legal aspects of healthcare
allows participants to take the lessons learned back to his/her
own community of practice for education and the improvement
of healthcare. The airfare, lodging and some meals are
covered as a part of your tuition.
